Founder of Jackson County Baptist Church in Jefferson, Georgia, continuing to share the message of faith and hope online.

Dr. Jack was saved on April 21, 1968 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oxford, Ga. He was called to preach at that same church on January 25, 1970. He was called as the pastor of Hi Rock Baptist Church in Conyers, GA in January of 1972 and was ordained at the Baptist Tabernacle in Covington, GA in February of of that same year. He served at Hi Rock Baptist Church until January of 1978 and then was called to Meadow Baptist Church in Duluth, GA where he served for 24 years. He then went to White Plains Baptist Church in Jefferson, GA where he served until April of 2010. In May of 2010 he and a band of people whose heart God had touched started Jackson County Baptist Church. Dr. Jack served there until he retired from pastoring in 2019 after having been a pastor for nearly 48 years. During the time he was a pastor he also was a professor at Gwinnett Hall Baptist College in Lawrenceville, Georgia for 27 years.

Jack Lawson was the seventh child born to Otis and Lola Lawson of Covington, Georgia. He was born on December 21, 1939 and graduated from Newton County High School in 1958. He married his high school sweetheart, the former Renee Dial, on September 2, 1960. They have two daughters , five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. They presently reside in Jefferson, Georgia.
